Rules for 4-Cycle Jr
Rookie:
- All drivers must be competition ages 8-15
per the IKF rulebook.
- All drivers and karts must meet the minimum class weight, measured
at the end of each race.
- Race specifications will match those of the IKF 4-Cycle Jr I class
- Briggs flat head engines must meet the following specifications:
- Must be
legal per all IKF specifications
- .425 BLUE Restrictor is required including one gasket on each side
- Any IKF legal pipe and
muffler
- Any IKF legal clutch
- Briggs Animal engines must meet the
following specifications
- Engine must
be stock sealed animal engine as supplied by AKA – no exceptions
- No
modifications of sealed engine are allowed
- Carburetor must
be legal per IKF rulebook for stock Animal engines
- Must use
spec pipe and muffler as supplied by AKA
- Must use
stock 13 tooth Magnum drum clutch - any combination of springs and shoes
is legal
- Must use
.475 throttle stop as supplied and fitted by AKA
- Stock kill
switch located on the front of the engine must be operative
- Engine seals
may only be broken in the presence of AKA tech officials
- Racer may not participate in Jr Rookie
class for more than one season
- 4 grace
races are allowed in one season without effecting driver eligibility in
the following season
- Advancement out of the Jr Rookie class at any time during the
regular season requires the following:
- Approval of
the Racing Committee who will consider the following criteria
- Continuous
control of the kart (limited number of spin-outs)
- Ability to
maintain consistent racing line
- Good
understanding of the rules
- Ability to
run consistent lap times
- Any
